Dutch feature film The Occupant and two VR works are selected to join the line-up at SXSW London this year.
Still: The Occupant - Hugo Keijzer
The Occupant** by Hugo Keijzer is celebrating its world premiere in London. In the film, a guilt-ridden geologist in transit from a remote assignment, survives a mysterious helicopter crash and must then try to escape the harsh environment. It is produced by Revolver, sales are handled by Altitude Film.
Ukranian-Dutch VR work Otherworlds* by Sophia Bulgakova (prod. FIBER), which got selected for IFFR earlier this year, is joining the XR Program. It is a contemporary embodiment of an ancient pagan Ukrainian ritual, which honours the cyclical patterns of nature witnessed in the transition of seasons and, with it, the ever-changing flow of life.
Experimental VR experience by Nemo Vos & Spinvis 8 Billion Selves is also part of the program. It premiered at IFFR and has also been presented at among others Kaohsiung International Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand at the start of this year. In the shoes of an observing visitor, the audience travels through the world where 8 billion people are born, work, wage war, love, dance, create art, and die.
