Netherlands Film Festival Tour in China

2nd edition Sept. 12th - Oct. 31st

After a succesfull Festival of Dutch films that toured in China during the end of the last Covid wave, the Netherlands Embassy in Beijing has this year commissioned a second edition of the Netherlands Film Festival in China which is currently running.

For the organisation of this film festival tour the Embassy collaborated with the China Film Group Corporation and their cinema network through out China. The program comprises a variety of Dutch film with Bigman (original title: Strijder) by Camiel Schouwenaar opening the tour in Beijing and Shanghai. Director Camiel Schouwenaar and script writer Job Tichelman were invited to China to attend the screenings in both cities and host a masterclass for film students.

The other films curated for this programme are: Close to Vermeer by Suzanne Raes, Kiddo by Zara Dwinger, Okthanksbye by Nicole van Kilsdonk, Rocco & Sjuul by Anna van der Heide, Sea Sparkle (minority co-production) by Domien Huyghe, Oink by Mascha Halberstad, Lioness by Raymond Grimbergen, Last Call by Paval Conen and Bed & Breakfast by Ruud Schuurman.

After Beijing and Shanghai the China mainland tour will visit Guangdong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu and Nanjing. Followed in November and December by Macau resp. Hong Kong.
