Dutch films headed to Tirana Film Fest

Tirana International Film Festival is running from September 22 to 28

One feature film and five shorts are selected for the film fest in Albania's biggest city, including an international premiere.

Olli* by Jeroen Mourmans will celebrate its international premiere in the PANORAMA Competition - GENERATIONs. The film, produced by Mokcus Film, world premieres at the Netherlands Film Festival this month. In the short film 17 year old Olli juggles a dayjob with a dark side hustle. 

In the FULL LENGTH Competition – PerspecTIFF Nafiss Nia is participating with her drama That Afternoon, produced by 100%Two people marked by their past as refugees are looking for a way out. They meet through a closed door, revealing two life stories with one combined fate.

Looking she said I forget* (prod. Idle Eye) by Naomi Pacifique world premiered in the Pardi di domani National Competition at the Locarno Film Festival last august. Now it is part of Tirana's SHORT Films Competition -  LIVE ACTION. Naomi Pacifique talked to SEE NL about her highly personal and intimate film.

Two Dutch films are in the SHORT Films Competition -  Documentary. Between Delicate and Violent by director and producer Şirin Bahar Demirel, which has been selected for : IDFA, Sarajevo FF, Hamburg ISFF and Go Short ISFF Nijmegen where it won the Audience Award. As well as City of Poets* (prod. near/by film) by Sara Rajaei, who's film world premiered at Berlinale followed by selections for a.o. Hong Kong IFF,  Vienna Shorts, Concorto and Documenta Madrid where it won the Fugas Award.

Toby Cochran's animation Luki and the Lights by Toby Cochran is joining the PANORAMA Competition - KIDs Program -10. The film serves as a platform for children and families to discuss ALS, and was selected for Tribeca in June. It is produced by Big Grin Productions (US), with support from the ALS Association (NL).
