Two people marked by their past as refugees are looking for a way out. They meet through a closed door, revealing two life stories with one combined fate.
Director Nafiss Nia has split her personal story into two characters: Roya, an asylum seeker representing hope, and Nassim, a former refugee embodying our bygone dreams. While Roya clings to the solution that could save her, Nassim is bitter and disappointed in life. They could be each other’s saviour, but a closed door stands between them. A film about more than two refugees’ struggle to survive, rather a reflection of the universal desire for a home and the need to come together.
