November 1st, the 35th edition of the Braunschweig International Film Festival starts, continuing until the 7th. This year, there is a large selection Dutch (co-)productions at the festival, including a focus on Dutch shorts with a programme called Shorts from the Netherlands. Here We Move, Here We Groove by Sergej Kreso
Founded in 1987, BIFF is the oldest festival in Lower Saxony, Germany. Started by a handful of cinema enthusiasts, it has developed into an audience festival for 27,500 visitors. Around 280 film industry professionals (filmmakers, actors/actresses, producers, composers, press) attend the festival to see about 250 full-length and short films on eight screens. Among these films, there is a huge collection of Dutch (co-)produced films.
As the festival describes it: short films from the Netherlands have been among their secret favourites for the past years. This year the Dutch shorts are finally in the spotlight and are granted their own short film programme, with a diverse and exciting selection of recent works:

10 outstanding European debut and second films are competing for two main prizes: The Audience Award "Der Heinrich" and the jury award "Volkswagen Financial Services Award". The Dutch (co-)productions selected for this competition are:

The Consequences** by Claudia Pinto Emperador, co-produced by N279 Entertainment
This year the film festival, in cooperation with the Association for Sexual Emancipation, the Queer Network Lower Saxony and the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equality, will award the Queer Film Prize Lower Saxony to one of the short films from the Queer/Cut Programme. The winning film will be decided by the vote of the audience. Two Dutch shorts are competing:
