Kaboom Animation Festival is just around the corner with a program packed with animation in all forms and shapes. SEE NL highlights all Dutch productions in this year’s program, a program that explores the theme of Human Touch.
Still: A Dog's Life by Sophie Olga de Jong, Sytske Kok
When machines can imitate the craft of animation, what remains? Theme program Human Touch explores the future of handcrafted arts. Will craft evolve? Disappear? Will animators somehow absorb this existential threat, or become curators of AI-generated images? Maybe they’ll simply persist – like the spiders who inspired Kaboom’s poster, handcrafted by Bea Lema.
