CineSud announced the three selected filmmakers who will participate in the 2025 edition of the Film Talents to Cannes program: Shanice Kamminga, Bauke Brouwer, and Justus van den Elsen. In addition, other filmmakers and films will also be joining CineSud on the trip to Cannes.
Still: Everything Before Us - Shanice Kamminga
CineSud launched the Film Talents to Cannes program in 2018 to provide filmmakers with the opportunity to gain knowledge, experience, and valuable international connections on the world’s biggest film stages. The program was so well received that it became a permanent part of CineSud’s activities in 2019 and has since gained both national and international recognition.
In 2025, a new delegation of three talented filmmakers—Shanice Kamminga, Bauke Brouwer, Justus van den Elsen, and Alina Milkina—will travel with CineSud to the Marché du Film during the prestigious Festival de Cannes. There, they will gain exclusive access to networking opportunities, workshops, coaching, and one-on-one sessions with film professionals. The program officially kicked off with an introductory workshop and launch dinner in Maastricht.
“We are especially proud that Charlotte Driessen has been selected for the New Producers Room 2025 through CineSud (a partner of the program since last year),” says Guido Franken, Director of CineSud. “This is a fantastic opportunity that recognizes her talent and potential as an emerging producer on an international level.” Also joining the delegation—thanks to a collaboration with Screen Talent NL and Go Short—is Dutch Short Film Pitch winner Alina Milkina.
Broader Presentation
In addition to the selected talents traveling to Cannes, CineSud is also presenting Dutch filmmakers in the New Dutch Talent Short Film Corner collection. A total of eight short films will be presented to international audiences:
Everything Before Us – Shanice Kamminga
Behind the Door – Justus van den Elsen
Growing Pains – Jottum Kok
Droom – Fleur Jonkers
Blootje – Lisanne Sweere
Lieve Lieve – Amber Rozema
Wet Boy – Yentl Vlachos
Wanklank – Sem Dingemans
With this program, CineSud continues its commitment to supporting and promoting emerging film talent on an international scale. In addition to the three filmmakers officially selected for the program, CineSud also supports Jottum Kok, Lisanne Sweere, Fleur Jonkers, and Amber Rozema on location. These creators will also take part in many of the organized activities.
