Teenagers Eli and Nina are trying, each in their own way, to keep their heads above water while their parents’ marriage dissolves into a messy divorce.
Eli (14) and Nina (16) seem to lead carefree lives. Eli is on the swim team, and Nina is in love with her girlfriend, Steffie. Their parents' divorce leaves them torn between mother Maria and father Jacob. As parental rights are fiercely contested and arguments rage, Eli and Nina are forced into making choices they don’t want to make. Both engulfed in their own grief, they drift further and further apart. Until they realise they are both looking for the same things: love, recognition and comfort.
