Wander to Wonder, directed by Nina Gantz, has been chosen for a nomination in the category European Short Film – Prix Vimeo at the European Film Awards 2024.

The Academy Selection includes films that deemed to be among the most excellent that European cinema has to offer. The Feature Film Selection is decided by the Board. For the other parts of the Academy Selection which include documentary, debut film, animation and short film, several independent committees, juries, or short film festival representatives are appointed. The Academy Selection represents every year the very best of European cinema and aims to actively promote the films in the period until the ceremony of the European Film Awards in December through a plethora of growing activities.
The short film selection and nomination procedure of the European Film Awards is organized by the European Film Academy with a series of film festivals. At each of these festivals, an independent jury presents one of the European short films in competition with a candidacy in the short film category of the European Film Awards.Out of the complete list of 28 candidates, the participating festivals nominated five films for the European Film Awards. Wander to Wonder was selected as EFA Short FIlm Candidate by Tampere Film Festival last March.
After the announcement of the nominations in the short film category the 5,000 Academy members will watch the nominated films on the Academy VOD Platform and vote for the winners (of all categories), to be announced at the 37th European Film Awards Ceremony on 7 December in Lucerne/Switzerland.
Nina Gantz’ anarchic stop motion animation Wander to Wonder*(NL co-prod. Circe Film and Kaap Holland Film) world premiered in Venice and is celebrating a successful festival run with awards at a.o. SXSW where it won the Jury Award for Animated Short, the Grand Prix at Tampere Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Glasgow Short Film Festival and the Grand Prix at Anima Festival Brussels.
