Film Talents to Cannes is a special training and networking programme for selected filmmakers organized by talenthub CineSud during Short Film Corner | Rendez-Vous Industry. SFC | Rendez-Vous Industry, a forum dedidated to short filmmakers, takes place May 19 – 22 at the heart of the Marché du Film and aims to promote emerging talents and facilitate the interactions between the creation and the industry.
The CineSud Talents to Cannes participants will be put in the spotlight and they will get the chance to meet film professionals and other emerging filmmakers from around the world and also attend workshops and masterclasses of SFC | Rendez-Vous Industry. CineSud creates a special program for the talents including networking events, one-on-one meetings and group meetings with decision makers in the (inter)national film industry.

The following filmmakers from the Netherlands are selected for CineSud | New Dutch Talent to Cannes 2024:

Besides that, CineSud represents the following collection short films from New Dutch Talent in the SFC | Rendez-Vous Industry: Yildiz (Ayla Çekin Satijn), Olli (Jeroen Mourmans), Snor (Zainab Goelaman), Koers (Fer van der Hoff), Love in Procedure (Laura Huygen, Moos Pozzo), Ultraviolet (Veerle de Wilde).
New Producers Room
Since 2024, CineSud als partnered up with Cannes Film Festival in their New Producers Room. The New Producers Room is designed to familiarize these producers with co-production opportunities through specialized online sessions and presentations held during Cannes. Beyond mere financial collaborations, it provides a platform for building strong, mutually beneficial relationships, acquiring co-production skills for future endeavors, and ultimately enhancing the distribution and exhibition of upcoming short films.
As the Dutch participant, CineSud has nominated emerging producer Thomas Mataheru (DotInk Cinema). Thomas, a participant of CineSud’s Dutch Film Talents to Cannes program in 2019, has made significant strides in recent years, including winning a Golden Calf for Best Dutch Short Film in 2023 with Lucid Dreaming. As part of the New Producers Room, Thomas will benefit from a series of online informative and coaching sessions, as well as a curated program during the Festival de Cannes, providing invaluable opportunities for learning, networking, and professional development.
