Tom and Ajani are outsiders in a conservative village in The Netherlands. Their relationship is a secret and they dream of a new life as film students in Amsterdam. But when they leave the countryside they are confronted with big city norms and social expectations that are totally different to what they imagined. Their relationship no longer a secret, Ajani adapts rigorously to the Amsterdam queerscene and a new world that does not hate them for who they are. But being hated is the only thing Tom knows.
