Several (co-)productions from the Netherlands are on its way to the International Film Festival India, celebrating its 54th edition in Goa.
Still: When Fucking Spring Is in the Air - Danyael Sugawara
Starting the Dutch line-up with two films in the Cinema of the World section: Lilian Sijbesma's first feature film Under the Naked Sky**(prod. Revolver Amsterdam), which also screened in Tallinn Black Nights' youth section JUST Film. SEE NL talked to the director about her film, before heading to Tallinn. Secondly, When Fucking Spring Is in the Air**by Danyael Sugawara, that will have its world premiere at IFFI (prod. OAK Motion Pictures, sales: Wide).
Minority Dutch co-productions in the selection
ICTF UNESCO competition (the contenders are vying for the ICTF UNESCO Gandhi Medal)
A House in Jerusalem** by Palestinian filmmaker Muayad Alayan (minority co-produced by KeyFilm, sales: Heretic). World premiered in International Film festival Rotterdam’s Limelight programme.
Intergrade (section for experimental films)
Omen**, the award-winning debut feature by Baloji. It has garnered recognition at prestigious festivals worldwide starting with Cannes, where it premiered in Un Certain Regard and received the New Voice Prize. Dutch co-producer: New Ams Film Company, sales: Memento.
Festival Kaleidoscope
Eureka by Lisandro Alonso (NL co-producer: Fortuna Films) and Lost in the Night** by Amat Escalante (NL co-producer: Lemming Film), which both world premiered at Cannes.
