Seven years ago, the Verbeek family took in a dwarf piglet as a pet. They called it Nelson. But the adorable little animal then grew up to become a 500-kilogram giant. The neighborhood and housing association revolted. Having a large pig in the house was seen as abnormal, unhygienic, and dangerous. Son Brandon (12) was bullied by his peers about Nelson. However, Brandon and his family stood their ground. The media caught wind of this extraordinary story, and Nelson eventually became famous.
