Ester Eva Damen

Third part in the Whisper Wind trilogy. Humanwolf is the visual answer by filmmaker Ester Eva Damen to a Frisian poem by Elmar Kuiper.

In the Whisper Wind trilogy Frisian poets Tsead Bruinja, Nynke Laverman and Elmar Kuiper together with director Ester Eva Damen created a series of visual narratives, each centered around a Frisian poem. Ester Eva lived part of her childhood in Friesland. She returned with the camera to reconnect with the landscape and people. Listening to Frisian language brought back forgotten feelings. Elmar Kuiper is an artist, poet and musician. He worked for many years in a psychiatric institution. Elmar's poems about his time resulted in the performance and film Minskewolf with bilingual actor Rienk Nicolai.
