Suburban Amsterdam, the sunny spring of 2012. Just like every week, Aagje (65) and Toon (67) visit their son RICK (42), who is in a secure psychiatric facility. That day it is unexpectedly announced that Rick’s request for euthanasia is granted, on the grounds of unbearable and hopeless psychological suffering. It will take about eight weeks before the euthanasia will eventually take place. This is too long a wait for Rick, but will it be enough time for Aagje and Toon to let him go?
