I Don't Wanna Dance in Chicago

The film screens at the Chicago Summer Screenings

I Don’t Wanna Dance will be presented at the Chicago Film Festival Summer Screenings. Director Flynn von Kleist’s debut feature is a coming-of-age story about Joey, a 15-year-old boy who needs to decide whether to pull out of the destructive dance with his mother, or stay with her at the cost of his own happiness.

The film previously screened at numerous film festivals, including the Locarno Film Festival, BUFF - Malmö International Children's and Young People's Film Festival, the Movies That Matter Festival, where it received a special mention, and Giffoni Film Festival, where it won Best Film in the 13+ competition. I Don't Wanna Dance is produced by The Rogues. It is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund.

The Chicago Summer Screening of I Don’t Wanna Dance is organized in collaboration with Dutch Culture USA and SEE NL. The screening, followed by a special Q&A, will take place at the Chicago Cultural Center on 31 August at 18:30. For more information, click here.
