Two Dutch Shorts at FIDMarseille 2022

Obsada and Insieme Insieme are selected

Between July 5th and 11th, FIDMarseille, recognized as a source of new cinemas, both documentary productions as well as fiction films, will have two Dutch shorts screening: Obsada by Wendelien van Oldenborgh and Insieme Insieme by Bernardo Zanotta both celebrate their world premieres at this year's edition. SEE NL has it covered.

Obsada by Wendelien van Oldenborgh

Obsada by Wendelien van Oldenborgh is selected for the Flash Competition. The Polish word “obsada" means "film cast” but can also mean "working team" as well as the act of placing of a plant in the ground. Obsada (2021), is a collaboration with an all-female film crew, who are at the same time the film’s cast. Involving a group of MA and PhD students from the Łódź Film School, the women’s individual and collective experiences resonate with locations in the Film School and in Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź. Sales are handled by LUX Distribution.

Insieme Insieme directed by Bernardo Zanotta and coproduced by Near/by Film is selected for the French Competition. In the experimental short film, an unusual bandit trio spends autumn in a village by Lake Maggiore. In their holiday apartment they create a parallel world, which little reflects their surroundings. As the pressures of the outside world begin to weigh in on them, they kidnap a tourist in order to give their lives a purpose. Festival distribution is handled by Eye Experimental.

See NL has interviews with both film makers coming up soon. For more information on FIDMarseille, click here.
