In Flow of Words wins at Clermont-Ferrand SFF 2022
In Flow of Words by Eliane Esther Bots wins the Best Documentary Award at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival
At the award ceremony of this year's Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, it is announced that In Flow of Words by Eliane Esther Bots and Near/by Film won the Best Documentary Award. The festival started at January 28th and continues until February 5th.
In Flow of Words by Eliane Esther Bots
In Flow of Words follows the narratives of three interpreters of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. They interpreted shocking testimonies from witnesses, victims and perpetrators, without ever allowing their own emotions, feelings and personal histories to be present. Contrary to their position at the tribunal, this film places their voices and experiences center stage.
In Flow of Words world premiered at Locarno Film Festival where it won the Best Direction Prize in the Pardi di Domani category and selected as the festivals' Short Film candidate for the European Film Awards. Following this candidacy the short documentary was nominated as one of five films in the running for the Best European Short Film at the 34th European Film Awards. In Flow of Words is produced by Near/by Film. Festival distribution is handled by Square Eyes. The film is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund.
