An elderly artist couple must say goodbye to life. Love and passion for art helps them endure their fate.
An intimate portrait of an elderly artist couple. The documentary depicts photographer Hermine and painter Ger's last year together. Because of his deafness and her dementia, misunderstandings mount, leading to mutual bewilderment. But in gardening, and in art, they find joy and solace. Ger tries to keep on painting, but his muse Hermine loses track of things. The moment of farewell draws closer and after Hermine's death, a return to painting becomes, for Ger, a fundamental reason to survive.
