Valentina Gal explores internet subcultures from within. For her work, she steps into worlds created by groups with a specific, sometimes monomaniacal interest. For her most recent work The Spirit is Willing, but the Flesh is Furry, the artist delved into such a world: that of the furry fandom. These people adopt a physical or virtual alter ego (a "fursona") in the form of an anthropomorphic animal.
